Privacy Policy

MyClassToppers ("we", "us") operates the myclasstoppers.in website and the MyClassToppers Android application (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: your name, mobile phone number (verified by OTP), email address (optional), and the class/grade you select.
• Learning activity: courses you view or purchase, video watch progress, quiz and homework results, attendance in live classes, and certificates earned. This powers features such as resume-playback, streaks, and recommendations.
• Payments: payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the payment amount, status, and a payment reference. We never receive or store your card number, UPI PIN, or banking credentials.
• Approximate location (optional): if you tap "Use my current location" or "Near me", we use your device's coarse location to match nearby tutors or tuition requirements and to auto-fill your PIN code. Location is only captured when you tap those buttons; it is never collected in the background.
• Content you post: comments, course reviews, doubts, homework submissions, and tuition requirements (which may include your contact details for tutors you engage).
• Device information: a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send class reminders and updates, and basic technical logs (device type, app version, error reports) to keep the Service working.

2. How we use information

• To provide the Service: accounts, purchases, video playback, live classes, tutoring, notifications.
• To personalise: recommendations, resume points, class-based course filtering.
• To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud and abuse, moderating reported content, protecting paid content.
• To communicate: class reminders, booking updates, payment confirmations, and service announcements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Who we share information with

• Razorpay — payment processing.
• Google Firebase — phone-number sign-in and push notifications.
• LiveKit — real-time audio/video for live classes (your name is visible to class participants).
• Cloud hosting providers — our servers, database, and media storage/CDN.
• Tutors/students you engage: when a tutor pays to unlock a tuition requirement you posted, or a booking is confirmed, relevant contact details are shared between the two parties so the tuition can take place.
• Authorities, when required by applicable law.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app, or by emailing us at sachin.priyadarshi904@gmail.com from your registered contact — your account is deactivated and personal data is removed or anonymised, except records we must keep by law (such as payment/tax records).

5. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and above. Younger students should use the Service with a parent or guardian, who may operate a parent account linked to the student.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are never stored (login is OTP-based), and access to production systems is restricted. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You may access and update your profile in the app, and request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us. For any privacy question or complaint (grievance), contact: support@myclasstoppers.in. We aim to respond within 7 working days.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change and material changes will be announced in the app.
